Jesus Never Taught About “Absolute” Truth

It is not uncommon for two people to discuss what they believe with great conviction. Sometimes a Christian will speak with a non Christian about spiritual matters and the non Christian will say something like “Well that is what is true for you but it isn’t true for me”.

It seems that we can order our lives according to the truth of gravity, the truth of cause and effect, the truth of hot and cold, the truth of light and dark, or the truth of time and aging. Yet in the realm of the spiritual we have no problem saying that there are competing truths, each different and yet each as valid as the other.

It really is silly.

There can be no truth if there is no absolute truth. That is truth by definition must be absolute or it is not true.

So when The Lord said that He is the truth, He means that there is no other source of truth. There is no other place to go for the truth. He is the only source of truth.

So, Jesus could never teach about absolute truth because there is no such thing as un absolute truth.

Jesus Christ taught the truth…period.

The truth that He teaches is that He is the only way to heaven.

(John 14:6)

Think about it.
